I wrote this solution to a call earlier today:

Earlier today we spoke over the phone because you couldn't change your password.
When you tried again you succeeded.

Variations on this theme include:

Earlier today we spoke over the phone because you couldn't change your password.
To change your password you need to press the 'change password' button, not the 'single registration' button.

And

Earlier today we spoke over the phone because you couldn't log in.
When you pressed 'Okay' rather than 'Cancel' you were able to log in.

And last but not least

Earlier today we spoke over the phone because your internet didn't work.
When you pressed the enter-key after inserting the web page address, it worked.
