So you know how sometimes something doesn't seem to work and you ask someone for help, and that's the exact moment whatever it is starts working again? Yes? Don't worry, so do our costumers. This is a selection of their reactions:
"Well, I think your voice worked miracles, it works!"
This one happened this morning and made me giggle. Costumers like that really make my day.
"You've clearly radiated good vibes to it. You're like the Jomanda of computers!"
For your information: Jomanda is a Dutch tv-medium from the 90's who has, incidentally, been proven a fraud. Thanks?
"I told you, it doesn't work! I tried like a gazillion times!"
"Would you please try again anyway? I need to know what error-message you get..."
"I told you, I already tried! It- Oh. Right. Well. It worked?"
This is my favorite line when I'm pretty sure someone is just being an idiot and a little too call-happy. And hey, if it doesn't work I'll get the error-message?
"I'm an idiot, aren't I?"
Yes, yes you are, but you're forgiven because at least you realize it yourself.
"This happens every time! It doesn't work and then when I call it does!"
And my all-time favorite:
"No! It can't work! It doesn't work! It doesn't!"
To my fellow helpdesk employees and anyone else who has quotes like this to share: Feel free to share them in the comments! I'd love to hear them and I'll bet anyone else would, too.
'Yes, yes you are, but you're forgiven because at least you realize it yourself' <-- this is my new favorite line...I've even got people to use it on, I'm sure XD Plus, I'm chuckling now as I visualize the temper-tantrum attached to your all-time favorite. These make my day!!
ReplyDeleteI've had this happen to me (and I was the idiot calling), and I recall saying, "Oh, well, it works now, apparently...I'm going to go crawl in a hole now. Thank you for you time!"
