So... Why did you call us again?

Once in a while (alright, more like once every two days) you get calls like this:
"I can't log on to my new account!"
"I see here that you haven't changed your password yet. You need to do that before you can log on for the first time."
"That's not right. I did change my password."
"Something must've gone wrong. Could you try changing the original password again?"
"No, because I already did that."
"I understand, but something must've gone wrong. The system says your original password hasn't been changed, which means you can't log in. If you go to password dot..."
"Nonsense! I did change it! I'm not going to do it yet another time!"
"So... Why did you call the helpdesk if you aren't going to follow my instructions?"
Alright, so I don't actually say the last bit (not while I'm on the phone anyway). I want to though, badly.

I honestly can't find these sort of calls anything but hilarious. There's two possible outcomes: Either the caller does what I say after all (as happens most often, to be honest) and it turns out that it works (because contrary to popular belief I do actually know what I'm doing... Sometimes), or the caller hangs up in a huff and that's really their problem. Also, they get ridiculed. A lot.
